William:The Zoo

Today, the day before school, my family and I went to the the Zoo.  We got up at around seven in the morning to go to the zoo so the kids and I could pet the sharks and stingrays, ride the carousel, and go to the Children's Zoo for free.  It was so fun, it might of been the most fun thing I did this summer, because I got to go to all the places I wanted to go and was with my family.  Don't even get me started on the walk.  We walked over four hours with the babies.  At the end the babies and Mom got really tired on the walk, so we started to walk back and leave.  My favorite thing I saw at the Zoo was either the sharks and stingrays, the Reptile House, or the insect place.  That place kind of creeped me out.  That was the funnest time I ever went to the Zoo!

Patrick: The Zoo

            My favorite part about the zoo is the reptile room because it has snakes, crocodiles, frogs, and much more. My other favorite part was the big cats because I got to see my favorite animal the tiger which is the best big cat I think. The part I didn't like was pushing the babies up the big hill which was really hard work. So overall I really liked the zoo which I always do when I go there because there is a lot of fun things to do there. So this is my writing about the zoo.

Elizabeth: The Zoo

On the last day of summer, we got to go to the zoo.  The zoo was awesome... we got to see prairie dogs, lions, giraffes, and insects.

We got to see the eels and pet them... they were so soft and slick...  there were sharks in the tank... I got to pet a hammer head shark; it felt weird.

The giraffes were locked up in a cage, it was super sad... I almost cried...

On the last day of summer, it rocked... I love going to the zoo!!!

Mary Christine: The Zoo

I liked the naked mole rats because they were so funny... because they were naked with no fur... I liked the giraffes because they were the best... I liked their long, long, long, long, long, long necks... I liked petting the sting rays, but I didn't actually get to pet one and I liked the seeing those gray things, but I can't remember their names... they had horns... I liked the ostriches- they are fast... I liked the goats... we got to pet them... I liked the two baby goats and the momma goat... I liked the bunnies and guinea pigs with the fur and the birds we saw....

My favorite part was playing on the playground and looking at butterflies and snakes... I liked everything actually... giggle.. I love everything we saw... they are the best animals ever...

Jack: The Zoo

My favorite part was the giraffes because it looked fake but it was real... It looked like it had a costume on...

I liked the naked mole rats because it was funny because they were in a pile, in a circle...

My favorite other part was seeing the big, giant snakes...

William: Going Back To School

So far, I think that middle school has been great and probably will be fun for the next two years.  I thinking seventh grade will be fun because I will be on a new team and meet some new friends.  I've heard that in my school that in the beginning of the year you get to go to the City Museum.  I love that place.  I will probably like the teachers.  The really cool thing is that my brother and I have lockers right next to each other, have the same contact teacher, and have science together.  I think that this year will be great and awesome!

Patrick: Going Back To School

 I am sad that I have to go back to school because I want to play and stuff instead of working inside for almost 7 hours. But I am also happy to back to school because I get to meet new people and I get to see old friends again. My favorite part about going back to school is P.E because that class is always the best and you get to be active. The part I don't like about school is the homework which is sometimes easy and sometimes hard but most of the time it is hard. I think going in to 7th grade is going to be fun because now you are not the newest in the school and you're almost to the top which is going to really fun. So that is what I think about school.

Jack: Going Back To School

I can't wait to see my new classroom, see my teacher again, and my old friends.  I can't wait to make up new friends, help people and have snack time.  I love my new classroom and my old classroom... and that's all...

Mary Christine: Going Back To School

My teacher's name is Ms. Hunt.  I am going to be in First Grade and it is going to be fun... Lizzy told me all about it and it is going to be super fun!!!  Guess what we are going to make??? I can't tell you...

Elizabeth: Going Back To School

I had Mrs. D for my teacher, but sad news... I got a new teacher.  Her name is Ms. Johnson.  I'm going to be in 3rd grade.  I'm looking forward to spending time with friends and having lots of fun.

Elizabeth's Favorite Summer Break Activity

My favorite part about this summer is finding out my Mom is having a baby... The baby is a girl!!!  My mom is 40; this is her 8th child.

We have gone to a lot of places this summer.  The Michigan trip was a 7 hour car ride.  We went to Kid's Corner; we played at the cool playground. The beach had big waves, and you could surf on them.  The brothers did that... We made Smores.  They were super yummy.  We took the dog, but she couldn't go to the beach because she had a cast on her leg.  That was sad...  

This summer rocked!!!

Jack's Summer Break

I like Tillman.  I got to play at the Magic House and got to see Beanie. 

I sawed some big fireworks on the Fourth of July.

Today, William made waffles.

I like going to the pool. I like swimming and doing front flips in the family pool.  I like going in the Lazy River and down the water slides.  I swim with my blue noodle and it keeps me safe.  I like playing in the bucket pool where we play a game until the bucket of water pours down on us.

Yesterday, we went to Gardening Club.  I liked playing bingo and winning lolly pops.  I liked putting the diamonds and these plastic things on the rock and making it colorful.  I liked rubbing the sponges on my rock to make it cool and nice.  We got to bring our rock home.  Queeny and Paul were here here so we got to show our rock to them and Dad.  Then we put it on the porch so it could dry more.

Mary Christine's Summer Break

My favorite thing was the fireworks on the Fourth of July.

Ricky and me went to McDonald's and it was super fun.  And we took pictures which was fun, too.  Ricky gave me a pink dragon.  I liked it.  I sleep with her every night.  I named her Pinky Pie.

I liked school because I got to stay in Jack's room one day until my teacher came back.  It was super fun.  Mrs. M. letted us go outside to play with her.  Then we went back inside to play a little more.  My teacher for first grade is awesome.  We are going to make something and it is going to be big.  School was really fun and I liked all of the field trips.  My favorite one was to the Magic House because we got to play there.  I got to go fishing there for pretend.  I got to play a lot.

William: Swim Team

Hi, you might already know, but my name is William and I love swim team.  The swim team that I swim for is Kirkwood swim team.  This is already my third or forth year being on the team and also doing swim team.  I have a lot of friends on the team like from school or somewhere else.  Out of all of the strokes butterfly, backstroke, breaststroke, and freestyle I like backstroke the most because, you don't have to put your face in the water and I like swimming on my back to see if I am I the front or not.  Hopefully I am in first because I am a great swimmer and my parents think that also.  I already went to three of the meets and those meets I went to was two wins and one loss.  Since I am swimming for Kirkwood  the bad thing is that the lose was to Webster and they beat us I think four years in a row.  That's a bummer.  So far my summer has been great and I hope in stays great in till school starts up again.  I DON'T WANT TO GO TO SCHOOL!

Patrick: Soccer

I really like my soccer season because I get to play with my team mates and I get to play soccer. My favorite part of my season was when my team and me got to play in the state cup. Which is this big thing where only teams that are good get to enter. The team I play for got to play in the state cup because we were good but not amazing because we were playing up 1 year up. Another thing I like about my soccer season is that in the beginning we have to run a lot but then we get to cool off with some food and going to a pool close by which is nice and it's only us who are swimming in it. The other thing I like about my soccer season is that we beat teams and win games which makes me feel great, but when we lose games I still hold my head up high because it is just one game we can make up for. So those are the things I liked about my soccer season.
